No post in a while and sadly with good reason. There is good news and bad news.
The good news is the final edit has been completed and I am close to finishing the setup for print & eBook. The bad news is the day after in hit 'save' on that final edit my body decided it needed a break and struck me down with a painful chest infection. Been working when i can but sleep and breathing are still a problem, thankfully meds are being applied and shouldn't be a problem much longer. Not much else to report other than I am feeling excited and incredibly anxious (as well as near death) about the upcoming release. I hope those who are joining me on this adventure enjoy it. If you do, tell your friends, the more the merrier! TTFN P.S. Might as well add, in leu of being able to do anything fully productive, work on Morzeel's Lost & Found 2 has been underwork. So if all goes well the sequel won't be far behind!

...because you'll have to read it 100 times.
Read that quote somewhere on Facebook the other day and it made me laugh, because that is exactly what I've done and nearly exactly how many times I've re-read my book. Things are going well, about half way through the edit and have mixed up and changed a few things to help the flow. When you're writing in a frenzy as the story is just spilling from your mind there's a few key details you can miss or skip over. So I'm very grateful to my editors for being diligent with a red biro. Starting to get some decent traffic on my SM pages too, even got a few trolls so I think that means I've made it? haha. Just a couple of months to go, so nerves are building up, and I'm looking to get pre-orders up and running within the next month for anyone who is interested. There will be more detail to follow. That's all for now, just trying to keep to my weekly updates. TTNF First of all it gave me a little smile to write that many 2's in a row.
Secondly, I'm going to do my very best to make Monday nights my update night. I'll be giving updates on progression in more detail than my social media pages, which may get posts more regularly but that'll be more casual. So as of this evening I am back into updating my manuscript after the most recent edit. Making some grammatical and spelling corrections, as well as just tidying up sections I feel could have been better. My hope is to have the release date in May of this year, and at the moment I am on track! So it'll be out and ready to sit at the top of your summer reading piles! I've had some amazing feedback this last week from people eager and interested to hear more about what's coming and when, and I look forward to getting this series out for you all to enjoy. Right. That's enough dilly-dallying. Back to the edit! TTFN. Welcome to my site, and thanks for stopping by!
Not much to show for the moment, but this, along with my social media pages, will be the best place to keep up-to-date with what's going on. What's going on is that I am just a month or two away (pending edits and revisions) from releasing my first novel into the world. Mortzeel's Lost & Found is the first in a series of fantasy-detective novels that I have been working on over the past two years. Set in a world of monsters and magic, the series follows the adventures and mishaps of a detective agency in the fine city of Belgar. A full blurb can be found on the 'Books' page, which shows my current and only book soon to be published, and will shortly add the rest of the series. In the mean time back to getting everything set! Thanks and TTFN! Nick |
